100% Nettle
4 ft. w. x 7.5 ft. l. / 1.20 m. x 2.29 m.

MUDRA is a natural fibre carpet made from the Nettle plant. Wild nettle has long been valued as a medicine, fibre and food source. MUDRA was made by women weavers living in the west country of Nepal using traditional hand processes. The fibre is stripped from the plant stalk, then dryed, washed, boiled, spun, dyed and woven by hand.

The design for MUDRA is a simple five-line graphic symbolizing the five fingers of a hand held out towards the viewer. This ancient hand gesture or "Abhaya Mudra" represents protection, peace and freedom from fear.
